Our mission is to extract unused fiber resources from plants
and to make high-quality, sustainable alternatives for paper and packaging usable. We close hidden loops and combine economic reason with ecological responsibility. Every fiber is a piece of future security and our proof that there is always an alternative.
There is a Plan(t) B.

Our Papers
We are facing up to the challenge of developing high-performance alternatives to conventional papers made of virgin wood and recycled fibers – based on fast-growing, plant-based raw materials. Our goal: sustainable materials that are ecologically convincing and economically viable.
Best Practices
Numerous packaging solutions on the market already rely on our alternative fiber materials – obtained from fast-growing, regionally grown plants.
They stand for a resource-conserving choice of materials and show how sustainable innovation is already a reality today.

Our Fibers
While conventional virgin wood fibers are becoming scarcer and the call for resource-conserving solutions is getting louder, OutNature is developing innovative alternatives – based on fast-growing plant fibers.
Rooted in the
future.
The primary raw material for paper is pulp. This is predominantly obtained as fresh fiber through the industrial management of forests. Volatile markets also often result in long transport routes and thus high CO2 emissions. Wood processing also requires a high level of energy and chemicals in the further course of the process. At the same time, demand is growing, as paper-based packaging is increasingly being used as an alternative to plastic packaging and is already being used successfully in the food trade.
But how can paper be produced more sustainably in order to offer a real alternative?
Our solution:
Alternative, rapidly renewable raw materials such as silphium, straw and Paludi biomass offer great potential for the paper and packaging industry. Our strength lies in recognizing these previously underutilized plant fibers as high-quality resources and refining them in a targeted manner using modern technology. In close cooperation with our partners, we create new, sustainable raw materials – and give them real added value for industrial applications.
Our Raw Materials

Silphium
As the world’s only producer of silphie fibers, OutNature has developed a special biothermal process that extracts high-quality fibers for paper production from this regionally cultivated energy crop. The unique texture and color of silphie paper make it a resource-efficient alternative for environmentally conscious packaging solutions.

Straw
A raw material everyone knows: Straw has accompanied us since childhood – in fields and rural life. This “old friend” is now part of the solution to modern environmental challenges. OutNature transforms this agricultural byproduct into high-quality fibers for paper and packaging applications, combining nostalgic memories with forward-looking innovation.

Paludi Biomass
Tradition meets future: Paludiculture combines ancient knowledge of peatland use with cutting-edge research. As part of the toMOORow initiative, OutNature develops meaningful usage paths for rewetted peatlands to preserve or restore these valuable ecosystems as natural climate protectors. Reeds and cattails become valuable raw materials while endangered ecosystems are simultaneously protected.
