Our Papers.

We take on the challenge of developing high-performance alternatives to conventional, wood-based papers – based on fast-growing, plant-based raw materials. With innovative strength and responsibility, we shape the transition to alternative material solutions.
Why Paper Made from Alternative Fibers?
Global demand for paper is continuously increasing, while the availability of wood fibers is decreasing. At the same time, the demand for environmentally friendly packaging is growing. Traditional pulp production consumes enormous amounts of water and energy and pollutes the environment. Our answer is paper made from non-wood-based, alternative plant fibers.
The plants grow back quickly and enable the production of paper that meets growing ecological requirements without sacrificing quality. Silphie paper in particular is LCA-proven to be more resource-efficient compared to wood fiber alternatives. We work to make all paper qualities as resource-efficient as possible. We see ourselves as the key to a paper industry that operates more resource-efficiently compared to today’s conventional wood fiber production.
Your Benefits at a Glance
Our alternative plant fibers – from Silphie, and in the future from straw and paludi biomass – offer specific advantages compared to conventional wood-based materials. Thanks to their origin in Germany, they cause only low CO₂ emissions due to short transport routes. Since the fibers are obtained from renewable raw materials, no logging is necessary, which protects forests. The paper with alternative fibers can be fully integrated into the usual paper cycle, just like traditional wood-based papers. This ensures circularity. An additional advantage is that no additional cultivation areas are required for this.

The Answer to Resource Scarcity
With our Silphie fibers already established on the market, we have proven what innovative paper production can achieve: according to LCA 2025, Silphie fiber shows a net CO₂ reduction in fiber production (see link for details) and, according to LCA 2025, causes less CO₂ than the examined average of unbleached pulps and secondary fibers. Building on this expertise, we will soon expand our portfolio to include fibers from straw and paludi biomass.
All our raw materials are grown and processed in Germany. This eliminates the need for raw materials from overseas, the extraction of which is often associated with the clearing of primary forests or the destruction of sensitive ecosystems (such as the rainforest). In this way, we offer an important alternative to deforestation while ensuring a lower ecological footprint through short transport routes. The result is high-quality fresh fibers that prove that regional value creation and climate protection can be optimally combined.

Product Portfolio
Grammages from 60 gsm
We distribute papers and cardboard with plant fibers in a basis weight range starting from 60 g/m². Our paper qualities – Paper, Liner, and Board – show what new standards are possible in the utilization of alternative fibers as raw materials for the packaging industry. The focus is on packaging applications in the food and non-food sectors, but also special graphic applications. Our qualities are machine-finished, surface-treated, and are characterized by excellent printability in common printing processes (offset, flexo, screen, and digital printing).
From Sleeve to Stable Corrugated Board
We offer various product lines with our fast-growing plant fibers. The proportion of fibers in the paper varies depending on the application and raw material. Our Silphie papers have a Silphie fiber content of 35%. The fiber proportions in the product lines with straw and paludi biomass are currently still under development, so no final details can be provided yet. The fibers are combined with FSC®-certified pulp or waste paper.

Applications with fibers made from straw and paludi biomass
Our research and development work continues: fibers from straw and paludi biomass are in the starting blocks and will soon supplement our portfolio with further raw materials for paper and other fiber-based applications.
Straw is one of the least used “waste” products from agriculture. Straw fibers are an excellent pulp alternative with properties comparable to fresh wood fiber and aim for very good printability and optimized strength values.
Papers with fibers from paludi biomass combine climate protection with innovation. This is because the use of paludi biomass from peatlands is part of paludiculture. This approach promotes the rewetting of areas and thus creates the economic basis that contributes to the renaturation and long-term restoration of important ecosystems.
